My wife and I recently had a delightful stay at the Chaplin Bed-and-Breakfast in Rome. If you're traveling on a budget and want clean, comfortable, conveniently located accommodations that won't bankrupt you, check out the Chaplin. (——) It's on the top floor (there's an elevator), above the street noise, and is heated in winter. You get pleasant rooms, extremely comfortable beds, fresh towels daily, a separate fridge for guests, and a hearty breakfast.
The proprietor, Rene', a friendly Dutch guy with a great sense of humor, is fluent in seven languages, including English. He knows Rome well and is happy to help you plan your itinerary.
We found the Chaplin's location perfect–a 5-minute walk from the rail station and easy walking distance from most of the major sites. Nearby are shops where you can buy fresh food, as well as a small street market most mornings. There are also a number of decent, inexpensive restaurants.
We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Chaplin and consider it one of the best bargains in Rome. We'll be back!

We stayed 4 nights from 29.02-04.03 2012 and we were very impressed by the atmosphere ,very clean hostel, every day new towels, breakfast was simple but very enough ,amazing cups and plates, good style.The heat was working so it was warm enough, clean rooms and bathroom. Hire drier and fridge which is important for some people.We had to eat early breakfast 2 days because of our program with the ticket and it was no problem,so also it's very good.
Location is very good we were walking everywhere from hostel. only one day we used metro with is 5 min walking distance.
Everyone that reading this feedback now can go and look for some other hostels in other sites,but you will never regret to try this one and after that will be next one to writing nice feedback here,this is what happens to me.

My husband and I spent two nights at the Chaplin Bed and Breakfast on a recent trip to
Rome. The room was large, clean, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the
excellent company of our multi-cultural, multi-lingual host, Rene, as
well as the other guests. With guidance from Rene about where to go and
what to see, we walked absolutely everywhere from the Chaplin B&B with no
problem. And then, there was the extra service: After we departed Rome,
Rene discovered that we had left some clothing behind. He emailed us
right away and arranged to be at the Chaplin when we passed through Rome
the following week so we could retrieve our items. The experience was
much more fun and interesting than your standard hotel, and much more
affordable as well. The Chaplin comes highly recommended!

Rene was very friendly and helpful. We had a great room, with balconny
(where you can perfectly sit in the sun in the morning).
You can walk from the hostel to all the things you want to visit in Rome. And very
close to the railway station, wich makes it extra convinient.
So don't hesitate, book!

Ben and I were thrilled to find such a beautiful, clean, comfortable environment at such a great rate.
We slept well, breakfast filled us up for a big day of sightseeing, and we had easy access to all the major sights, by foot or by metro.
