The Bed & Breakfast Chaplin is located no more than a 3 minute walk north of the main railway station Rome Termini. Visitors arriving late at night or leaving the city early in the morning will find the location of the Hostel Chaplin Bed and Breakfast Rome especially convenient, since both the train to Fiumicino and the buses to Ciampino arrive at and leave from Termini Rome.
Entering Rome Termini’s main hallway, turn right, towards the Via Marsala-exit. Cross the road, continue straight ahead, and take the second street on your right (Via dei Mille). Turn left at the end of the street. Rome hostel Chaplin Bed and Breakfast is situated in the first building around the corner on the left (Via del Castro Pretorio, 28). Buzz apartment 12/a. Once inside the building, take the steps on the right, and then the lift to the 5th floor.You will find the Hostel Chaplin Bed and Breakfast Rome on your left when you come out of the lift.
Several coaches (e.g. Eurolines, but also Italy based lines) arrive at the Tiburtina railway station instead of Rome Termini. The same goes for trains that arriving between midnight and 6am.
During daytime you take the metro (line B, 4 stops) to Rome Termini and then follow the previous directions to get to the Bed & Breakfast Chaplin Hostel. In Rome the metro does not run between midnight and 5.30am, so you either take the 40N nightbus to Rome Termini, or you opt for a taxi. From Tiburtina to the hostel Chaplin Bed and Breakfast in Rome the rate ought to be be no more than 12 Euros.
Every 30 minutes there is a non-stop train from Fiumicino to Rome Termini. The ticket costs 14 Euros and can be bought at the ticket office, but also in tobacconists and newspaper stands. Validate it before you board the train, in the yellow machines you find at the beginning of the tracks. The train usually arrives at track 25. Walk alongside track 24 till you come to the main hallway, then turn right towards the Via Marsala exit. Cross the road into the Via Marghera, and take the second street on your rght (Via dei Mille). Turn left at the end of the street (Via del Castro Pretorio). The Chaplin Bed and Breakfast Rome is located in the first building on your left.
The SIT Shuttle coach company provides a direct bus service (8 Euros, one way) to the Via Marsala (Roma Termini). Walk on in the direction the bus was going and turn left into the Via del Castro Pretorio.
There is a fixed price of 40 Euros for a taxi from the airport of Fiumicino to anywhere in the center of Rome (and B&B Chaplin Hostel). (Be careful, however, not to pick a taxi based in the city of Fiumicino itself, since they are allowed to charge you 60 Euros.)
The cheap option is to take a Cotral bus to Anagnina (the ticket costs 1,20 Euros and can be bought from the driver) and from there metro line A (tickets can be bought at vending machines and in newspaper stands and tobacconists) to Roma Termini. Note that until April 2012 metro line A will only run until 9PM. From 9PM till midnight it will be replaced by the MA1 and MA2 buses.
Alternatively you can take the Cotral bus to the station of Ciampino and then a train to Termini station.
Three different bus companies provide direct connections between Ciampino airport and Rome Termini. Terravision and SIT Shuttle arrive in the Via Marsala, around the corner from Chaplin B&B. The cost of a one way ticket is 4 Euros. After you get off the bus you walk on in the same direction and turn left into the Via del Castro Pretorio. Cotral is less regular and stops in the Via Giolitti, on the other side of Termini seen from the bed and breakfast.
A taxi from Ciampino Airport to the center of Rome and B&B Chaplin Hostel is relatively cheap. There is a fixed price of 30 Euros, regardless of the number of passengers, the time of day or the day of the week.
