San Francesco di Paola ai Monti

The church of San Francesco di Paola ai Monti is the national church of the Calabrian community in Rome and is located in the Monti district, not far from the Colosseum.

It was constructed in two different stages, first by Orazio Torrani towards the end of the 17th century and then (almost one century after that) by Barattoni.

The façade of the church consists of two levels, the lower one of which is made of travertine marble, while the upper part is done with simple plaster.

The portal and the two niches are situated between two pillars with cherubs on top.

The interior consists of a single nave with on each side three chapels.

The main altar the church was designed by Giovanni Antonio De Rossi.
