Rome Sunday Markets

Apart from the daily markets there are also a number of special markets that are usually held only on Sundays. Some of these, like the famous Porta Portese flea market in Trastevere, sell everything imaginable, others specialize.

General Sunday markets in Rome

These are markets that are held almost every Sunday in Rome.

  • Porta Portese: From Termini take either bus H or bus 75. Italy’s biggest flea market has it all, from antique(-ish) wardrobes to thimbles. Be prepared to haggle. (Till 2PM)
  • Garage Sale – Rigattieri Per Hobby: Rigattieri means “junk” and there are 240 stands of it, all run by non-professionals. (Piazzale della Marina 32; 1,60 Euros; +39 065880517)
  • Piazza Verdi: One hundred stands of antiques and collector’s items, held every 4th Sunday of the month (Free entrance, 9AM-8PM, +39 068552773).
  • Piazzale Clodio: Both antique and modern pieces of furniture (Free entrance, 9AM-7PM, +39 3389657690).
  • Le Bancarelle di Campagnano: or The Stalls of Campagnano, 250 stands in the center of Campagnano, just north of Rome)
  • Fashionart Store: Vintage chic and accessories (Scuderie Ruspoli, Via di Fontanella Borghese 56/b; free entrance; 10.30AM-8PM; +39 3277322171)
  • Eco Solidale: Toys and smaller pieces of furniture. Run by the Sant’Egidio organization. (Via del Porto Fluviale 3; free entrance; +39 0657300510)
  • After Tea: Goa, inside a danceclub, a small market titled “No market” accompanied by live music.
  • Micca Market: For the young and alternative crowd: Vintage clothing, vintage design, vinyl records and especially made, one-off jewelry, made by creative, young, independent designers. Held in the Micca Club, on Sundays only. Entrance is free, till the deejay starts playing. (Via Pietro Micca, 7/A)
  • Conca d’Oro: Scarti d’Autore in Via di Torre Argentina.
  • Lignarius: Via Mecenate 35.
  • Mercatino Monti, held in the Es Hotel (Via Filippo Turati)
  • I Rigattieri di San Basilio (Via di San Basilio)
  • Mercatino Nomentano: Held every Saturday and Sunday (Via Cortuso 17; 7AM-7PM; 3382752831).
  • Fuori dal Coro: Handicrafts made by women only. Free entrance. (Via di Torre Argentina, 72; 10,30AM-8PM; +39 0668300937).
  • Happy Sunday market: 80 Stalls on 3 floors. DJ Set. (Lanificio Factory, Via di Pietralata, 159/a.; 11AM-10PM; +39 3405830639.)
  • Anticaglie a Ponte Milvio: Only on the first and second Sundays of the month. Free entrance. (Ponte Milvio;  10.30AM-8PM; +39 3277322171).
  • Soffitta Sotto i Portici: Piazza Augusto Imperatore: Only on the first Sunday of the month, in front of the Ara Pacis. 50 Stands.
