Rome Exhibitions February 2012

Exhibitions in Rome that will end this month:

• Until February 26, 2012: In The Orient: Cities, Men and Gods along the Silk Road (Museo Nazionale Romano).
• Until February 19, 2012: “Leonardo and Michelangelo: Masterpieces of Design and Roman Studies” in the Capitoline Museums.
• Until February 12, 2012: The Renaissance in Rome (Museo del Corso).
• Until February 12, 2012: The Palazzo delle Esposizioni hosts an exhibition dedicated to the history of mankind, starting from the moment.
• Until February 5, 2012: “Rome in the Time of Caravaggio” in the Palazzo Venezia.

• Open all year: Maybe not the right time of the year, but if you are near the Vatican City anyway, you could do worse than quickly visiting the nativity scene created by Rome’s garbage collectors, AMA.
• Until January 6, 2013: Marisa Merz in the MAXXI National  Museum of 21st Century Art.
• Until May 6, 2012: Guggenheim: American Avantgarde 1945-1980 (Palazzo delle Esposizioni).
• Until May 6, 2012: Henri Cartier-Bresson: Images and Words (Palazzo Incontro).
• Until April 29, 2012: Steve McCurry  in MACRO Testaccio.
  
• Until April 29, 2012: The National Gallery of Ancient Art in the Palazzo Barberini in Rome hosts the exhibition “Guercino 1591-1666. Masterpieces from Cento and from Rome”.
  
• Until April 9, 2012: The Borghese Gallery has 65 masterpieces on loan from the Louvre that originally belonged to the Borghese collection.
• Until March 31, 2012: Cinecittà si mostra, or Cinecittà shows itself. For the first time the visitor can get direct access to the famed  Italian film studios.
• Until March 4, 2012: The Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna hosts an exhibition dedicated to the Arte Povera movement.
• Also until March 4, 2011: Gianfranco Baruchello in the National Gallery of Modern Art.
