Directions to the Rome’s International Airport of Fiumicino

By car
To reach Fiumicino airport by car you need to follow the ringroad around Rome (the GRA, or Grande Raccordo Anulare) and then the autostrada A91 till you come to the airport.

By train
The Leonardo Express is a non-stop train going back and forth between the central station Roma Termini and Fiumicino. There is a train every 30 minutes and the price of a ticket is 14 Euros. This ticket can be bought from the ticket offices and from vending machines, but also from tobacconists and newspaper stands at the airport and the railway station itself. A slower but cheaper (8 Euros) train does not stop at Termini but visits smaller stations like Roma Trastevere and Roma San Pietro. (Read more extensive information about the Leonardo Express and the FR1 train.)

By bus
Take the SIT Shuttle bus from the Via Marsala near Termini (8 Euros, get the ticket from the bus driver). The company Co.Tra.L also has buses to Fiumicino (from Tiburtina railway station), but the schedule is not very regular. They do have a night bus, though, which also stops near Termini (near the beginning of the Via Viminale).

By taxi
The official rate, regardless of number of passengers, time of day, day of the week, items of luggage is 40 Euros from the airport to the center of Rome and vice versa. Taxis based in Fiumicino, instead of in Rome, are not allowed to take return trips and may therefore charge 60 Euros. That is not your problem, so make sure you get a taxi based in Rome itself.
