Eating

There is probably not one street in the center of Rome that does not have a restaurant, or trattoria, or osteria, or pizzeria, or other kind of eatery on it.

The most famous restaurant quarters are Trastevere, the former ghetto, and Testaccio. Romans themselves often go to the student quarter San Lorenzo and to Pigneto, the trendy area of the moment.

That does not mean that there are no good places to eat in the rest of Rome. The area around Roma Termini abounds in restaurants, but like the ones near the Vatican City, these are often just there to get money out of the tourists’ pockets.

Our own favorite places to eat in Rome are:

  1. Trattoria dell’Omo
  2. Pizzeria Formula 1
  3. Enoteca 313
  4. Himalaya’s Kashmir (Indian)
  5. Africa (Eritrean)
  6. Wong Ho (Chinese)
  7. Trattoria/Pizzeria Ivo
  8. Arancia Blu (Vegetarian)
