Repubblica/Nazionale Hotels

Piazza della Repubblica is a square slightly more than a 5 minute walk to the north-west of the main railway station Roma Termini. Continuing in northern direction from the piazza you end up at Barberini and, finally, the Spanish Steps, and continuing in western direction you will walk along the Via Nazionale, one of Rome’s main shopping streets.

The area is easy to reach by public transport, since some of the main bus lines (the 40E and the 64, which connect Roma Termini to Saint Peter’s Basilica and pass several major tourist attractions, like Piazza Venezia, the Pantheon and Piazza Navona on the way) pass through the Via Nazionale.

Hotels become gradually more expensive as you near the Piazza Venezia end of Via Nazionale, but there is enough affordable accommodation to be found in the form of B&B’s in its many side streets.
