On 16 December 2011 the National Gallery of Ancient Art in the Palazzo Barberini in Rome inaugurated the exhibition “Guercino 1591-1666. Masterpieces from Cento and from Rome”.
At the same time the Palazzo inaugurates the opening of the restored exhibition spaces on its ground floor.
The show aims to highlight the major works in the career of Francesco Barbieri, as was Guercini‘s real name.
The title of the exhibition refers to Guercini‘s birthplace of Cento, just north of the city of Bologna.
The exhibition will continue until 29 April 2012. The Palazzo Barberini is open from 9 AM until 7 PM, except on Mondays. The price of a ticket is 10 Euros (8 Euros for over 65′s and children between 6 and 18 years of age; free for children up to 6 years of age).
