More than two centuries after Napoleon Bonaparte acquired a number of sculptures from the Villa Borghese in order to add them to the collection of the Louvre in Paris, the works of art have returned to Rome for an exhibition in the Galleria Borghese.
The exhibition will last until 9 April 2012 and is titled I Borghese e l”Antico (The Borghese Family and the Ancient World).
Sixty-five pieces out of a total of around 500 can be admired during the exhibition, some of which are world-famous, such as the Borghese Vase, the Sleeping Hermaphrodite and the Portrait of Lucio Vero.
The entrance fee is 13,50 Euros and reservations are mandatory (+39 0632810).
