The Druid’s Rock is one of the best pubs of Rome located in the area round Roma Termini and is one of three owned by an Irish/Italian couple, the other two being the Druid’s Den and the Fiddler’s Elbow, the oldest of all Irish pubs in Rome and like the Rock situated in the immediate vicinity of the Saint Mary Major Basilica.
The most important feature for most visitors to the pub is the number of TV sets present, showing all the soccer (Premiership, Scottish League, Italian Serie A and Spanish La Liga, plus the Champion’s League) and British rugby (including the Six Nations Cup) matches.
Quite unusual for the area it is located in, the Druid’s Rock actually has some space where you can sit outside without pedestrians trying to climb over you all the time and cars blowing their exhaust fumes at you.
The Rock has several beers on tap, including Guiness, and a reasonable choice of bottled beers. The price of a pint is around 5 Euros and 3.70 during happy hour and at the Druid’s Rock many hours fit into an happy hour: Every day from opening time till 8PM and all day on Tuesday.
There is a small upper level where you can play table football and pool.
The Druid’s Rock is not a place to go if you want to have a romantic night out. It can be crowded and the crowds can be rowdy. Fights sometimes break out.
