How to reach the Rome Hostel Chaplin Bed and Breakfast

The Bed & Breakfast Chaplin is located no more than a 3 minute walk north of the main railway station Rome Termini. Visitors arriving late at night or leaving the city early in the morning will find the location of the Hostel Chaplin Bed and Breakfast Rome especially convenient, since both the train to Fiumicino and the buses to Ciampino arrive at and leave from Termini Rome.

From Roma Termini Station to the Bed and Breakfast Chaplin Hostel Rome

Upon exiting from the platform and entering Rome Termini’s main hallway, turn right, towards the Via Marsala-exit. Cross the road, go straight ahead, and take the second street on your right (Via dei Mille). Turn left at the end of the street. The Rome hostel Chaplin Bed and Breakfast is situated in the first building around the corner on the left (Via del Castro Pretorio, 28). Buzz apartment 12/a. Once inside the building, take the steps on the right, and then the lift to the 5th floor.

From Rome Tiburtina Station to the B&B Chaplin Hostel Rome

Several coaches (e.g. Eurolines, but also Italy based lines) arrive at the Tiburtina railway station instead of Rome Termini. The same goes for trains that arriving between midnight and 6am.

During daytime you simply take the metro (line B, 4 stops) to Rome Termini and then follow the previous directions to get to the Bed & Breakfast Chaplin Hostel. In Rome the metro does not run between midnight and 5.30am, so you either take the 40N nightbus to Rome Termini, or you opt for a taxi. From Tiburtina to the Rome hostel Chaplin Bed and Breakfast the rate should be no more than 12 Euros.

From Leonardo da Vinci (Fiumicino) Airport to B&B Chaplin Hostel Rome

Every 30 minutes there is a non-stop train from Fiumicino to Rome Termini. You can buy the train ticket (11 Euros), apart from at the ticket office, in tobacconists and newspaper stands. Do not forget to validate it before you board the train in the yellow machines you find at the beginning of the tracks. The train usually stops at track 24. Walk all the way along this track 24 in order to come to Rome Termini’s main hallway. Follow the previous directions to the Chaplin Hostel Rome.

There is a fixed price of 40 Euros for a taxi from Fiumicino to anywhere in the centre of Rome (like the B&B Chaplin Hostel). (Be careful, however, not to pick a taxi based in the city of Fiumicino itself, since they will charge you 60 Euros.)

From Ciampino Airport to Bed and Breakfast Chaplin Hostel Rome

1. The cheapest way to get to Rome is to use public transport, either a bus to Anagnina (the ticket costs 1,20 Eurs and can be bought on the bus) and from there the metro line A (the ticket can be bought at vending machines and in newspaper stands and tobaccoshops) to Roma Termini (Rome’s central railway station) or a bus to the city of Ciampino followed by a train to Roma Termini.

2. Nowadays there are several bus companies that take you directly from the airport of Ciampino to Rome Termini. RyanAir and EasyJet push the Terravision buses but both COTRAL and SIT are cheaper. Terravision has one advantage, which is that its schedule is adapted to the planes’ arrival and departure times. A drawback is that it will not drive off till it is full. Sterling has its own bus. Most of these buses stop in the Via Marsala, north of Stazione Termini Rome, near the Bed and Breakfast Chaplin Hostel.

3. From Ciampino the taxi rate to the Bed and Breakfast Chaplin Hostel and the center of Rome is 30 Euros. It is still best to ask the price beforehand, to avoid the monetary creativity taxi drivers in Rome are notorious for. Remember that they are not allowed to charge more than the price quoted, whatever excuse they may come up with.
